Honoring our veterans on Veterans Day

Veterans Day, commemorated as a day of observance, is celebrated on November 11 of each year; a day to remember and honor military veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. It is a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for our national security. It includes all veterans, those still living and those who have passed.

Why November 11th? Hostilities of WWI formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th month, 1918, thus marking the end of WWI. It was originally called Armistice Day, and was declared a federal holiday on May 13, 1938.  The name was changed to Veterans Day in 1954 at the urging of US veteran organizations. In 1971, with the signing of  the Uniform Monday Act, the date was changed to the 4th monday of October. However, it was eventually changed back to November 11 to preserve the significance of the original date. That is the date we celebrate now.

In honor of these men and women who served and are serving, and are serving this great nation faithfully and willingly, what could be more meaningful than to preserve their legacy with a beautifully crafted flag display case.  A case created specifically for them as a tribute to memorialize their service and dedication to our country. A case to showcase lasting memories for years to come.
